A small group of scientists spontaneously got together to become part of Brainhack Global 2022 with a Local Brainhack Magdeburg. In cooperation with Peer Herholz from the Neuro (Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital at McGill and McGovern Institute for Brain Research at MIT), we developed a program to bring together animal and human researchers in order to foster research across species.
National and international guests gave tutorials and presented open source tools for their analysis of human and animal data. Malte Güth (Center for Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience, Rutgers University Newark, USA) and Soumick Chatterjee (Fondazione Human Technopole Milan, Italy and OVGU) talked about usage of Nipype, MNE and GitHub, respectively and answered all questions from the on-site and online participants.
These tutorials were surrounded by an open hacking session were everybody was asked to bring their own data currently analyzing. For the most likely upcoming programming questions in Python we provided help by Peer Herholz (Neuro (Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital) at McGill and McGovern Institute for Brain Research at MIT) and Alexander Weuthen (OVGU).
